Chanel No 5 was introduced to the public on May 5, 1921 - 100 years ago, and remains the only perfume with such a long history to be sold in such large numbers today. Based on Marilyn Monroe's famous confession about using Chanel No. 5 to sleep, the company has endeavored to keep the fragrance current and associated with the most famous and beautiful women in the world.
